Authentique Carefree

Hi Everyone!
Kathie here with a peek at the Authentique line "Carefree". The paper weight of Authentique is so substantial....I love working with it so much! I have two cards to share with you today one is using this months sketch and the other is a fun card where I did lots of fussy cutting! (FYI: I love saying "fussy cut")

I used some Die-namics dies as well as Distress Stickles to add some sparkle. I made the circle flowers by cutting five circles and distressing them and then using a brad to secure them. The Alpha Sheet from this line had lots of cute words so I put them together for the sentiment.

For the second card I distressed the edges of all the papers and I used brown chalk ink to bring out the edges of the paper. I also used a black Glaze Pen to doodle and make the dots on the flowers to give them some dimension. On this card I also used Distress Stickles to add some sparkle

Layout Workshop Reminder

Just a reminder that April's Layout Workshop will be held this Friday, April 27th at 7:00pm.  We'll be playing with some BasicGrey papers and Dylusion Sprays!

Be sure to bring your trimmer, Adhesives (tape runner, foam tape or pop dots and liquid glue), sissors, and a black brush marker to class.  Also, don't forget your projects using last month's take home kit!!  Looking forward to seeing you all!

Ranger Technique Tag...

Everyone had so much fun at last week's Ranger Technique Tag that we decided to do it again this Friday.  So head on in tomorrow between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM to create this tag with Kathie for $5.00. 

You will learn new techniques and create with different Ranger products too!  Distress inks, distress stains, Tim Holtz Alteration dies, Glassine paper and more.

Saturday, March 10th Make and Take...

I'm sure if you've been checking out our Blog and Facebook page over the last week, you've seen all the new wonderful goodies that have been arriving at our Home.  Also thinking, you know you've just got to get into our Home and check them out for yourself in person. 

Well head on in this weekend and see what's new, and if you happen to be there on Saturday, March 10th Kathie will have a great Free make and take set up featuring Hero Arts & Sizzix stamp and die sets, along with some other fun goodies too!

Ranger Techniques...

Love Ranger products? Want to learn more...than head on into our Home tomorrow, Friday, March 9th and spend some time with Kathie. 

Kathie has some great techniques to share with you creating with Ranger products...from embossing powders, Tim Holtz Alteration dies, stamps and more.  You may have seen Tim Holtz's newest tag for the month of March, and said to yourself..."I'd love to do that"...which is pretty much what we thought too!  Well tomorrow you can...Kathie will have all the fixings set up and ready to go from 10:30 AM-3:30 PM. 

Give us a call if you know you're coming, or just pop on in and surprise us.  You will be able to create the tag shown complete for a materials fee of $5.00...technique knowledge = priceless. :)

I hope you are all enjoying the new book this month! After digging through all the pages of the book I am amazed and intriqued by all of the techniques!  How about you? We will be covering most of them in the next couple of months. I am sure you are all creating amzaing cards to share with everyone this Sunday! Can't wait to see!

Card Home Study

For those of you who aren't currently enrolled in our Card Book Club....we want you!  We are always looking for new crafting buddies and hope you will join us this week!  It is a great time to join because we are just beginning a new book.

Here is how it works:

Here's how our Book Club works...you will join the book club and receive a copy of our current card idea book, along with a coordinated kit containing items such as paper, cardstock, embellishments and more for you to create with. You will take these items home, create as many cards, etc that you're inspired to and then come on back for our monthly meeting.

Our monthly meetings include the kit as well as our hands on project time at the beginning of the meeting. You will need to bring your basic tool kit, along with your new idea book and any cards or projects that you have created with your kit.

Cards and Coffee...Tuesday, March 6th...

My Favorite Things Monthly Card Class Tonight...

Join Kathie tonight, Wednesday, February 15th at 6:30 PM, for our My Favorite Things Pure Innocence Year of Flowers Card class. In class we will be working with MFT's Pure Innocence stamps featuring November & December Year of Flowers Stamps. We will create with beautiful patterned papers, ribbons and more...coloring images with Copic markers. These cards are extra special just like the series. You will create four cards, two for each month.

Please bring your basic tool kit to class (trimmer, scissors, adhesive), along with foam tape, and glue dots.

Hi Everyone!

It's Kathie here with some more cards using the Kissing Booth Line from Basic Grey. I love the colors in this line and I have gotten so much use out of the stamp set from Hero Arts.

 Here are the two products I used to create these cards:

 

I wanted to show you how this one stamp set can make two styles of cards and how versatile it is.  With the first card I used the stamps to create my focal image of the card.  I white embossed several images on watercolor paper and then used Distress Stains and Perfect Pearl mist to create the color. It is so shimmery in person.  What a great way to make your own background paper. A nice quick and easy card!

 



For the second card I also embossed, but this time I used gold embossing powder.  This image appears victorian to me and I wanted to keep this card more elegant.  To finish it off I embellished with some gold cording and just highlighted the heart with a red Faber-Castell watercolor pencil and a water brush.

  

Two cards made from the same products with very different looks!  Hope you enjoyed seeing them as much as I have enjoyed creating them for you!
