You may have noticed a new group on our schedule the past few months...our ATC Swap Group. We have already had a few really great ATC swap meetings, they've been really fun and very inspirational! We had such fun sharing our ideas and techniques that we used while creating our ATC cards. We have another meeting coming up this Sunday, August 12th, and well we'd love for you to join us. So of if you're interested in learning about ATC's, fun techniques, and chatting with other "scrapbook/rubber stamp/atc" fanatics...then you've found your Home! Take a peek just below at some of the details and plan on joining us soon.
For those of you who are asking "What is an ATC" or what does this entail..... here is a brief description.
ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards and are the same size as a baseball card. (That would be 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches) It is on a smaller scale than anything you currently create so it takes you outside of "the box" I find it very challenging myself to get my mind to think on a much smaller scale than usual. Any type of medium is acceptable and usually there is a theme for each swap. In short, there is really no right or wrong way to create an ATC. Basically it is an artists personal work which he/she trades with you.
Our group meets each month and is given a theme and a number of ATC's they are to bring back to the next meeting. Then we re-meet and have a good time seeing everyones interpertation of the "theme" It truely is such a great time!
Please join us on Sunday, August 12th at 3:30 PM for our next meeting. You can always see what it is all about and make a decision after the meeting.
The themes for the next three months are:
- August: Winged Things
- September: Words
- October: Childhood
I hope you'll join us!
