I am absolutely in love with this month's color challenge combo! Blues and greens are "my" colors anyway, so the addition of a deep brown and white was excellent for me.
My Apple Dumpling layout uses papers from Crate Paper (Paper Heart), October Afternoon (Farmhouse), and My mind's Eye (Kraft Funday) and bits of embellishments from these collections as well.
I gave the page a rustic look to match the woodgrain paper by distressing my paper strips, using Tim Holtz Crackle Paint under my photos, and Glimmer Mist-ing some turquoise blue splotches. I chose to highlight only one photo in color and printed the other two sepia tone.
I used foam tape to pop some of the elements off the page for a little dimension... I always need a little dimension!
And of course no page of mine is complete without a touch of baker's twine and some fun frame stitching!
Give the color challenge a whirl this month and take a break from all the reds and pinks of your Valentine's creations. I know I found this combination refreshing and fun!
