When I first saw this month’s color challenge color scheme I was in love. I tend to lean towards blues and greens in my scrapbooking so I knew I would be able to jump right in...
My “us” layout consists of paper from Crate Paper’s Paper Heart Collection but most of the focus is on embellishments, with the paper being an accent. Since I knew I was going to use lots of embellishments, I used a white piece of cardstock as the background to have a blank slate-I love the promise of a white piece of paper, it can become anything!
The doily became the centerpiece of my design and since it couldn’t stay white, I misted it with Robins Egg Blue mist from October Afternoon. This gave it just the right amount of blue and allowed me to add various colored embellishments on top without clashing.
My absolute favorite embellishment is the heart. I used Hero Arts Patterned Heart Stamp on white cardstock and cut it out. I then accented it with an American Crafts accordion flower and a leaf pin from Maya Road.
Supplies Used:
Paper: White and Brown Bazzill Cardstock, Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection Friendship & Love Letter
Embellishments: White Doily, Maya Road leaf pin, American Crafts Delights Paper Flowers, Bella Boulevard Sophisticated chipboard and Quattrofina Saltwater & Pacific stickers, Kaisercraft bling, Turquoise bakers twine, American Crafts Forest thickers
Tools: October Afternoon Robins Egg Blue Mist, Scroll Punch, Momento Pear Tart Ink, Hero Arts Patterned Heart Stamp, MFT First Place Award Ribbon
