Greetings.. Jess here! Today I am bringing you a home decor project with Lily Bee's new Harvest Market papers. When I was at the summer CHA show I completely fell in love with Lily Bee's latest offerings. the colors are gorgeous and the patterns are super versatile! The theme is carried over in the color scheme and not through the images so you can really use these papers for so much MORE than just fall pages and projects. But this does happen to be my favorite season so I thought you would like to see this frame project of mine.
I dressed up the outside of the frame with 1/2" strips so it really makes the edges pop... and I do so love polka dots! You'll notice that I completely removed the cardboard backing and the glass from this. I decided it would be more fun and give me more options if I treated the center more like a shadow box. This way I get a lot more dimension and layers on there.
I layered multiple pieces of the Harvest Market papers and then cut and adhered a scrap piece of thin chipboard so that when I stacked the 4 x 6 peices it created an elevated platform for my matted photo. Then I tucked part of a kraft doily on left but adhered it to the top inside of the frame, rather than the bottom. There's a little foam tape under there to help it pop out and layer on top of the photo. The wood letters were misted orange. I love the look of wood grain on an autumn project!
Another great addition to fall projects is a touch of burlap. It's super inexpensive at your local fabric store and can be used for backrounds, craft projects, or even like a "ribbon" like I did here. I simply cut a strip and used my hot glue gun to form the bow. It's masculine enough to pass on this boy page ::wink wink:: Then I topped the bow with a misted wood button (to echo the wood in my title) and a star brad.
Thanks for checking out my project! Look for me later this month with more from Lily Bee.
