Hello Frances here!! Summer is full of SUN, POOLS, and VACATION!! But around my home, I find that we also get invited to a many of summer birthdays! Here is a quick and easy tutorial of how to create the perfect BOW to embellish a gift!
#1--Gather supplies: Paper trimmer, 1 brad, glue dots, double sided patterned paper, small hole punch, and coordinating chalk.
#2--Cut patterned paper into 9-1" X 12" strips and chalk. #3--Using your small hole puncher, put 3 holes in your strips...1 in the center and 2 on the ends. #4--Loop the strips so all 3 of the holes match up! #5--Push a brad through the alined holes. #6--Repeat, adding looped strip on top of the other. #7--Once you have all 9 strips looped and on the brad, open the brad to secure the loops. #8--Move loops around to get desired look and DONE!!! The perfect BOW for a summer party gift! And here is a look at my finished product! To create this sweet gift box, I found an inexpensive box from my area craft store. I covered it with Cosmo Cricket's Upcycle...just perfect for a girl's summer party! An of course I glued my BOW to the top! Using a shipping tag, I created a sweet "To:" tag for the birthday girl, again using Cosmo Cricket's Upcycle! I tied the tag to one of the loops in the bow using Baker's Twine. For the gift card holder in the box, I used and decorated a library pocket and topped it off with more twine! EASY, right?
If you try your hand at this super easy BOW, I would love to see it!
