It’s only been three months since our little boy entered our lives, but I’m already seeing a huge change in the way I scrap (although, I guess I should count my blessings I even have time to scrap!)
I’ve found it rather interesting how much of each story I want to tell. I always knew journaling was important, but in the past I mostly just labeled the cold hard facts (who, what, when, where.) Now I want to share the details, letting Quinn know why each memory is so important to us. I’ve also noticed that I went from talking generically (i.e. We went to xyz...) to gearing everything towards Quinn's memory, referring to everything as it relates to him (i.e. Mommy/Daddy, Grandma/Granddad, Nana/Papa, etc.)
In many, many layouts before this, I hand wrote my brief journaling and now I am finding myself in front of the computer typing out paragraphs of information. For now, I’m just taking it all in, admiring both the little and big differences Quinn has brought into our lives (and loving each and every one of them!)
For the past 12-weeks, each and every day has been filled with a wonder of firsts for me, and today is no exception. I am here to share with you Bella BLVD’s FAMILYdynamics line. It’s the first time I’ve worked with their products, and I’m certain it won’t be the last! Each paper is made of a good quality weight and printed double-sided with fun bright colors and patterns. The stickers are creative and provide just the right amount of ‘stick’ (enough to stay, but gives you a few moments of wiggle room if you want to move it before permanently adhering to the paper.)
Our Father's Day Maple Tree
The moment I went to Right At Home to pick out my papers, I knew exactly which patterns I wanted to take home (which is also a first, usually I sit there for quite some time debating). In addition, I knew exactly which topic I planned on scrapping (another first). The layout I created did take a slight turn from my imagination (I planned on printing a picture from 2006 and one from 2011), but the concept of documenting our Father’s Day tree was achieved.
In addition to the “Roots”, “Tight Knit”, and “The Littlest Things” papers pictured above, I also bought a sheet of “GAME NIGHT” and “WORDS of WISDOM” (pictured below). I already have two layout ideas brewing in my head for the playing cards and am certain the words of wisdom paper will be the basis of some great advice we want to share with Quinn.
I highly recommend you check this product line out the next time you are at Right At Home. It’s filled with both simple and classic (grids, dots, stripes) and creative and bold (swirls, funky flowers, playing cards) patterns, each with bright colors and fun family themed embellishments.
We are eager to know what you think of this (and every post), just press the comments button below and let us know your thoughts, we'd greatly appreciate it!
Smiles,
