Hi Everyone,
I'm back from the Right at Home Fall Weekend Retreat with some new layouts for you. We spent a wonderful weekend with good friends and LOTS of laughing. I was relatively productive (depending on your definition of productive) and I highly recommend attending one of Lisa and Sharon's weekend crops... they are SO MUCH FUN!!
I was able to complete my "assignments" for this month using My Mind's Eye's line Alphabet Soup. The colors of this line are fantastic... especially since I do have a girl to scrap. Lots of blues, greens and pinks and an extremely cute card stock die cut sheet.
The first layout I did is of my daughter and her good friend waiting for the mailman to come with their middle school schedules (an annual, agonizing event around here..) Our poor mailman was attacked by tweens all over town that day!
For this layout, I used a sketch I found in Becky Fleck's new book, Page Maps 2. This book is full of wonderful inspiration and is available at Right at Home. For fun I stitched a border and pleated my ribbon attaching it with my favorite tool the Tiny Attacher. (It's just too cute, can't get enough of it!)
My second layout also used a sketch from Page Maps 2. The picture is from my daughter's 12th birthday party... the girls were finally able to hold the pyramid long enough for me to snap a picture!
I spritzed the background paper and the ric-rac with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I inked the edges with the perfect shade of pink (thanks to my fellow DT member Lynn Kopas :o)) and painted the letters BFFS with Citrus Adirondack paint to make them pop a bit more. To finish, I added some stitching to make it more quilt looking.
Well, that's all for now. I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween. Stop by Right at Home soon to check out all of the new goodies that have been coming in!
