Happy Summer Everyone !!! I hope summer plans are taking shape and that you're all enjoying the start of this amazing season !! I'll try not to complain about the humidity - even though it challenges hair styling !!!
For my first DT project of the summer Lisa gave me a collection I've been "drooling" over since it was released. Those of you who know me know I LOVE Basic Grey ... actually obsessed may be more like it !! Many of you probably don't know that I was a veterinary technician from high school, through college and for many years after I graduated. It was the most gratifying, and heartbreaking, job I've ever had and I still miss it to this day !! I have had a pet since before I can remember and my whole family has been crazy about animals !! So, in case you haven't guessed, I received the "Max and Whiskers" Collection from Basic Grey !! The papers and TONS of embellishments are too cute for words ... please stop by the store and check out the entire collection ... you will LOVE it too !!
I created an 8.0 x 8.0 mini album which included corrugated cardboard - another FAV of mine lately !! I used corrugated cardboard from Zutter for the front and back covers and peeled most of the outer layer off and then inked the cardboard with brown distress ink. For the front cover you may recognize the design ... it's June's Sketch by Frances !!
Front Cover "My most Beloved Pets"
Pages one and two are dedicated to my current yellow lab Simba !! She is THE BEST DOG EVER !! Throughout the album I used the coordinating element stickers, woolies, buttons and twine to accent the pages. I inked the edges of all the pages ... shocker, I KNOW !!!!
Pages One and Two
Pages three and four are of my two current cats, Lilly - who is afraid of EVERYTHING but is sweet with me, and Max, aptly named for this collection, is my hunter cat ... look out chipmunks, birds and yes even baby bunnies (I try to rescue the bunnies as much as possible). I popped-up alot of the elements for dimension. I also added some corrugated cardboard accents to these pages.
Pages Three and Four
Pages five and six are of Rudy, a very adorable dwarf bunny I had right after college. He was fun and very entertaining - except when he chewed through the cable wires before a very important Celtics game !!!
Pages Five and Six
Pages seven and eight are of a gorgeous African Gray Parrot I bought years ago !! He was amazingly smart and had quite a vocabulary !! He loved to have his head rubbed and he mimicked my cats meowing which was hysterical !! He also mimicked messages left on the answering machine !! The alpha stickers throughout the album are also part of the Max and Whiskers collection. I used the larger stickers as a monogram for each pet.
Pages Seven and Eight
Pages nine and ten are the last pages of my album. Page nine features Cozy, short for Cosette. She was a sweet, funny, gentle, smart, gorgeous, loving dog. She is truly missed by so many people whose lives she touched !! Page ten is a simple page that showcases my personal and heartfelt journaling.
Pages Nine and Ten
The back cover is very simple and I left some of the covering on the corrugated cardboard for some interest. Finally I used the Bind-it-All, my new FAV tool !! Thanks for looking and if you have any special pets you will LOVE this collection !!
Back Cover

Lynn, this is AWESOME! I just love how you used all of the embellies and the cardboard is to die for. Mostly I love the pics of your cuties!! Great job!
