Hi Everyone,
It's no secret that Bo Bunny is one of my favorite companies. They always use such fun colors and designs in their papers and embellishments. Their new line, Petal Pushers is destined to go down as one of my all time favorites. It is full of beautiful colors... pinks, purples, greens, blues and the doodled flowers and chipboard pieces are hard to resist. I couldn't wait to get started on my layout and project using these great designs.
For my first layout, I took on Frances' challenge to use an ad or piece of artwork as my inspiration. My mother is a painter and one Christmas, gave me this adorable painting. (We're a cat-loving family around here...)
I love how the elements in this picture are placed. I used this overall design for my layout, Caroline.
I used the chipboard flowers and 3 dimensional stickers to create my bouquet. To embellish it further, I added stitching and created these great scalloped flowers to add more dimension. I've created a tutorial for these flowers, which an be found here.
The curls are just a thin strip of paper that I wrapped around a pencil. I love how the colors and flowers enhance the flowers in the picture.
My next layout is actually a project. Over the next month or so, the Right at Home Design team will be posting projects as well as layouts and cards to "mix it up" a little. I was assigned a fun clipboard for my project. It came with a magnetic clip so that it can be hung on a white board or refrigerator. I designed it to hang in my daughter's room.
The picture is from my daughter's birthday party last year. It shows her with 2 of her best friends from the neighborhood. I used multiple papers from the Petal Pusher line, scalloping and layering them to coordinate with the shape of the board. I added doodles on the scallops to coordinate with the doodled flowers. Again I used the chipboard and 3 dimensional stickers. The ribbon in the clip is also from Bo Bunny. I created another flower, using the same basic steps from my tutorial, except that instead of a scallop circle, I cut the flowers from Cricut's Accent Essentials cartridge and backed it with some ribbon "leaves".
I'm so happy with how the whole project came out, and I can't wait to see it hanging on the white board in my daughter's room!
Well, that's it for now, I'll be back in July with a couple of more posts. I hope that everyone has a wonderful 4th of July, and if you're in the area stop by Right at Home to pick up some Petal Pushers from Bo Bunny!!
Kathy
