I will never get tired of working with Basic Grey papers and goodies !! BG keeps adding more and more adorable embellishment and accessories to their lines which is great for creating ... not so great on the pocketbook !!! For April's DT projects I was psyched to use the KIOSHI collection !! The color palette for this line is soft pastel colors with fun shapes and patterns that are great for spring, summer, garden and outdoor projects !! The element stickers, chipboard shapes and pops are adorable as well as epoxy stickers, stitched brads and cozy posies.
I used the April Sketch by Frances for my first layout !! This is such a FUN sketch and I could easily use it again and again !! I decided to shrink it abit which allowed more room for ... you guessed it ... misting !!! I changed the photo to Black and White to contrast with the papers. This is a great sketch to use-up leftover paper scraps !!
I used two different shimmer mists that coordinated with the collection. The "POPS", which are layered stickers, have glitter accents on them so I added Stickles to the plain white chipboard alpha which helps the title pop a bit !! I also inked the strips of paper and angle cut them to add a little interest !!
I added another fun layered sticker as a photo corner accent and this ties all the glitter elements together !!
For my second layout I used pictures of my neice's daughter Tori at her first comminion. I distressed and curled the edge of the circle so the pattern on the opposite side would show.
I wrapped some twine around the flower stem and used white pen to add detail to the leaves and around the perimeter of the circle. I scrunched up some white crepe paper ribbon and tucked it under the photos to compliment Tori's dress and veil. I also used some gesso to add a painted frame around the photos.
I REALLY tried to keep the white cardstock plain ... but I just couldn't do it !! LOL !! So, I added a little mist to fill-up the white space. (I can't help my addictions !!)
For my final layout I went a little crazy with the elements that coordinate with the Kioshi Line !! I LOVE this photo of Miss Melissa O. and her ADORABLE daughter !! Maya's handmade crochet-hat went soooooo well with the paper how could I NOT scrap it !!
I tucked chipboard shapes and epoxy stickers behind and around the photo so they peek out ! I added some brown pen detailing around the chipboard shapes and PP to make them stand out !! The pen detailing also looks like stitching ...
Thanks for checking out my April DT projects and you will LOVE all the goodies that coordinate with this collection ... so check them out the next time you visit Right at Home !! Stay tuned for May's projects with a new sketch and challenge from our talented Frances Silva !!

Gorgeous!!! The picture of Melissa and Maya came out so cute. Her little outfit was sweet... Melissa said she made it! And I don't think you can ever mist too much!! You really did a beautiful job. ttyl.

I love your interpertation of the sketch, and the misting, oh my! so much fun.
My favorite is the You & Me layout. Gosh the baby hat is so precious--what talent to make that by hand!
Great job!
