Hi everyone, my name is Cory Mace and I am the newest member of the Right At Home Scrapbooking Design Team. I live in Bellingham, MA with my wonderful husband, Adam, and our dog, Lucky.
Easter 2010
This past Easter, my husband and I had an opportunity to meet our niece and nephew for the first time. I wanted to capture this memory and felt the beautiful spring colors in Pink Paislee’s 365 Degrees product line worked perfectly for this.
For this layout, I used three different papers. One was a circle and had beautiful scallop and scroll detail. I hand cut around the scrolls, layered it on top of the orange paper, and machine sewed the three pages together.
As I started building my layout, I ended up layering several of the Punch Out Die Cuts, and love the dimension it offers my page.
At the end, I accented the layout with Orange Peel and Mustard Seed Stickles, dew drops, and Tuscan Sun Glimmer Mist. I think it’s a really happy, spring time layout which captures a great family memory!
4 Leaf Clover
For my second layout, I was so pleased to be working with Pink Paislee’s 365 Degrees product line. I’ve had this photograph for a few years, and never quite got inspired to scrap with it—that is, until now!
For this layout, I created my own paper flowers using circle punches, which I crumbled, distressed, and accented with Bella Brads.
I cut one of the square Cork Buttons in half, and treated it as a photo corner, layered some more Punch Out Die Cut Tags, used Pink Paislee Artisan Tape, and miscellaneous RAH lace.
Arlington National Cemetery
For my third layout, I had an opportunity to celebrate our New Year’s weekend. This year, my husband and I went to visit friends in Washington, DC and the Pink Paislee’s 365 Degrees Cork buttons worked perfectly to accentuate the diplomatic color scheme.
In addition, I felt that the rounded cork design worked perfectly for Frances April’s Sketch of the Month (I just cut the large ones in half to make my own scallop look). I know I took some creative liberties with the background paper scraps, but that’s one of the things I love about scrapbooking—there is no right or wrong way to create—your layout is perfect, just the way YOU make it!
Part of the April Challenge was to incorporate either machine or hand sewing, so on this layout, I dabbled with a little bit of both.
Sisters
Ironically, the last layout I share with you is the first one I created.
Immediately in the store, I was drawn to the red toile pattern. At first, I hand cut out the center design, and then added in two more flower cut outs which I put into each corner.
As I was working on this design, I decided to take out my Big Bite and punch the center of each flower pattern out. As I was doing this, I lined the background with a solid sheet of red Bazzill cardstock so you could see this the detail, and accentuated the center of each star area with dew drops. Lastly, I added one Punch Out Die Cut tag, and some October Afternoon alpha stickers.
I hope you enjoy the 4 designs I created for you this month. I had a really great time playing with Pink Paislee’s 365 Degrees. All of the product used on these layouts can be found at Right At Home. If by chance I have been an inspiration for you to use this line, or scrap-lift a layout, please share it on the RAH Gallery!
