That might be the first thing that comes to mind when you see Graphic 45's new line called 'On the Boardwalk.' As with anything that Graphic 45 designs and sells, I fall in love usually before I even see it up close! The title is usually enough for me! I am so into all the vintage paper, ephemera and other goodies available in our paper crafting world. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM YUM! So of course when Lisa asked me if I wanted to use one of the recent CHA releases, it was all I could do to not scream and jump up and down. Well, I did. How is it that paper makes me so happy?!
I have to say the one thing I was bit challenged on was what photos I was going to use. I can guarantee you my girlfriends wouldn't want pictures of them hanging out on the beach floating around (as beautiful as each one is!) I do have pictures from an annual outing we have in Newport, but I kind-of used them in my last project. Then it dawned on me - they don't have to be summer! We had just had a mid-winter girls weekend in Newport, so why not use those! I hadn't even planned the pictures, they just happened to be of us down by the water hanging out! I know we're all guilty of seeing paper that we want, and you can picture the perfect outing... so you gather your family, dress them in the 'appropriate colors' and shoot away. My projects will show you that you might just have the perfect pictures in your stash already!
Without further 'chatter'... the first lay-out was my take on Frances' sketch from March:
Along the bottom I bunched and stitched some lace ribbon to add a vintage 'girlie' affect! I also made a rose using some of the papers. If you've been on my blog, you will know that I love Tim Holtz and the tags that he designs each December. On the last day of 2009 he made these gorgeous grunge paper roses. I've adapted it so that I can use cardstock patterned paper to match whatever project I'm working on. They're so much fun to make and really quite easy. Oh... and the WOW factor.... :)!
The next project was my favorite! I had so much fun working on this project. I had a set of old Cosmo Cricket Lacing cards that I had never used. These are something that anyone can make by cutting chipboard to 5 x 7 and making your own design. I think of it as a take on banners. To make mine I picked 4 pictures that I sized down to about 3.5 x 3.5. Then I had fun layering the paper, the tags and the border die cuts. I 'laced' them together with some satin ribbon and on each end I tied a ribbon so that I can hang it.
I had time before I met the girls so I took a drive and shot some pictures of some of my favorite spots in Southeastern RI. This second lay-out has a few of those pictures using some of the scraps I had leftover. I included a journaling spot by cutting a longer one in half and layering it. I like how it came out! I also wanted to try some of the flowers that Kathy had created in her lay-out! How fun!
Here is a close-up of the journaling spot that I made:
Finally I made a card! It was one of my best friends birthdays and I thought these papers would be perfect to make a card for her! I added some distress stickles around the edge of the umbrella for a little dimension:

Hello Everyone !! I hope you are all doing well !! I wanted to hop on and share my March Design Team projects with you. I had the opportunity to use Cosmo Cricket's "Garden Variety" collection for my projects !! This is a colorful line with reds, greens, yellows and oranges that are great for practically any occasion. The chipboard and elements that coordinate with the collection are so much fun !!
For my first layout I used Frances's March Sketch which I altered and put my own twist on !! I substituted photos for the blocks of patterend paper on the sketch, and I did some inking and distressing... shocking I know !! LOL !!
For my flower embellishments I made some really fun spiral flowers and added some chipboard pieces and pearl bling for the flower centers !! These flowers really add dimension to the page and can be made as big or small as you'd like !!
For my second layout I wanted to showcase some olders photos I took of Joshua when we went strawberry picking at Ward's Berry Frarm. The "Garden Variety" collection contains several strawberry elements that went PERFECTLY with my photos !!
I did alot of layering on this page and used one of my latest FAVS ... corrugated cardboard !! I mounted the center photo on the inked cardboard to make it stand out and I cut some cardboard circles and tucked them under the layers and on the embellishment cluster on the top of the page.
I tucked some pins into this cluster and added some buttons and more chipboard ...
I wanted to add alot of dimension to my next page so I punched some circles into a strip of paper, popped the strip off the page with foam tape and added more spiral flowers to the circles.
I put different styles and sizes of brads in the flower centers for added interest !! I also used a little mist in the upper corner to fill in the "white space" ... cuz you know I LOVE misting now !
My final layout contains several flowers made of various circle punched papers in different sizes. I crinkled and inked them and added some chipboard and brads. For another flower I used thick twine which I simply wrapped in a circle and added a brad center !!
Thanks for looking and please stop by the store and check out this adorable collection !! See you next month !!

Let me just begin by saying that Lynn is obviously the QUEEN OF MISTING! I just love what she did with her layouts in the previous post. So, I felt a tad inspired and pulled out my Smooch Spritz by Clearsnap and got to work. This month Lisa sent me the lovely Material Girl line by Cosmo Cricket...I can not tell ya how excited I was to get this line!!! I had been swooning over it during all of the CHA reveals, and my palms were just sweating to touch it, to smell it, to hold it...oops excuse me, I forgot where and what I was doing! Anyhoo, here are projects...
Just one more...

Are you like me ... you discover some technique or product and fall in LOVE !! My latest infatuation is Mists !! Mists are quite versatile and can add so much to a page !! There is a wide variety of misting products available and today I want to review two products. This first is Shimmer Spritz. The "shimmer factor" in this product is amazing and the colors are lovely. I used two different Shimmer Spritz colors on my first layout, which coordinated well with the Three Bugs in a Rug "Little Chick" paper collection.
The combination of mists give the plain white cardstock a little more oomph !! I masked off the journaling area, misted around it and then added some colored chalk to help define the journaling spot.
For the second layout I used Smooch Spritz by Clearsnap. They come in cute small tubes and the colors are gorgeous !! I used two different colors on this layout as well and left the journaling area unmisted.
The splotches are my favorite part !!
Both of these mists are available in many colors at Right at Home... so stop by the store, grab a few and have fun experimenting !! You will love the look it gives to your projects !! TFL !!

Have you been enjoying the warm weather this week? I know I have. With so many warm days in a row, I am already starting to think ahead to summer and all of the playground trips, hiking, and bike riding that comes with it. Since it is still a little too early to pull out the crop pants, I pulled out some photos from last year and started croppin'!
This month I got to work with papers from The Great Outdoors line by 3 Bugs In A Rug. This line is very versatile and has lots of great colors! The first thing that came to mind when I looked at all of the pine trees, was a logo from a race that my daughter did last summer. To further accent the race logo, I cut some trees from one of the papers and mounted them with pop dots to make my own accents.
My second layout was of our only recent "camping" experience. With two kids under 5, we have yet to venture to a campground as a family. Last summer my daughter really wanted to go camping, so she & my husband camped in our backyard and had a great time! I think we'll stick with the backyard again this year :)
For my third layout, I found some photos that I just loved with these papers. The March Sketch was the perfect way to showcase the photos of my son at the playground last summer. Can you tell that the pictures are from two different days and two different playgrounds?
Like I said, this line is so versatile! If you have a child in scouts, go camping every summer, love the colors orange & sky blue, want to scrapbook about the awesome time you had on National Scrapbook Day at Camp Wanna Crop or just about anything else, stop at Right at Home Scrapbooking and pick up The Great Outdoors line from 3 Bugs In A Rug!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! With a last name like Skou, you might not think this would be one of my favorite days, but I come from a very long line of Kelleys, Barretts, Hickeys, Doyles, McDonoughs..the list goes on and on! So I say, "Bring on the green beer!"
The luck of the Irish was with me this month when I looked at my goodies from RAH and found that I got to work with My Little Yellow Bicycle's Lucky Me! line. This line is full of wonderful greens, blues and golds. It's a very versatile line as well as you can see from my first layout, LOVE.
These are my two "honorary Irish" kitties, Daisy and Rosie. I used Frances' sketch ( found here ) for this layout. It's a great, flexible sketch! As a fun embellishment, I made ribbon spirals by tying ribbons around a spiral clip. It reminded me of the pom-pom toys that are strewn throughout my house!
My next layout, features my daughter with my grandmother who turns 93 this Friday! Happy Birthday Grandma! My daughter is so fortunate to be able to spend time with her great-grandmother. It's such a special relationship!
For my next 2 layouts, I accepted the March Challenge and created hand made embellishments for my pages.
Since spring is right on our doorstep, I thought it would be fun to create some flower embellishments. I made these fan-fold flowers to add some zing to my pages.
If you are interested in making these fun embellishments, I created an easy to follow tutorial for them. Click here to learn how!
If you're on your way out for a pint today, be sure to stop by Right at Home first to pick up some fun papers and embellishments from My Little Yellow Bicycle's Lucky Me! line. I hope you all have a very Happy St. Patrick's Day!
