So what do you do when you want that extra something on your scrapbook page, but don't have that perfect piece? Well, you make it, of course! For this layout I used the American Crafts Craft Fair line. It went perfectly with the pictures of my daughter feeding some birds.
I cut a 9x9 square and then a 1 3/4" X 10 1/2 " strip to put my title and go between the pictures. Add some hand stitching around the border with some embroidery floss and I thought I was done. I realized I needed something else!! Didn't have anything that fit so...I made a tree! I traced a tree onto the back of some American Crafts paper & then used a foam sponge to add a bit of white paint to give the look of some grooves on the tree. I used some more of the American Crafts paper to make some leaves & covered a birdie with more paper and put it in the tree! It was fun and worked out great. So the next time you feel like you need something else on your page & can't find...MAKE IT!!! .... Debi
